Session 23

 



Types of students in school :

- the nerd - studies all the time and wants to answer all the time 
- the bully - makes bad jokes about the others , hurting their feelings ; some are aggressive
- snack eater - during classes this one eats 
- love birds - students showing their love for each other in front of the others
- farter - especially in lower classes this one always ruins the air quality
- the clumsy - he/ she trips over everything around, hurts himself/ herself , drops things .
- the dumb / the clueless - he/ she doesn't learn and he/ she is always behind 
- the cheater - he/ she copies the others' work / tests or uses Internet inspiration 
- the nervous student - this one is anxious at the tests especially 
- the teacher's pet - a student who tries to become a favourite
- the clown - makes people laugh , or at least he/ she tries
- the shy - he/ she has trouble to communicate 
- the loud one - always interrupts in a loud voice 
- the sleepy - he/ she seems tired all the time
- the drama queen - he/ she loves drama and tries to get attention any minute
- natural leader - the others follow him/ her naturally 
- slacker -he/she misses a lot of classes and always finds excuses



clumsy = neindemanatic

past simple vs past perfect 


to forget - forgot - forgotten = a uita
to get - got - got = a obtine 
to forgive - forgave - forgiven = a ierta
laundry = rufe 
washing machine = masina de spalat 
to do the laundry - to do the washing =  a spala rufele 
flat = apartment = apartament 
to fasten (ed) = a inchide ( centura de siguranta ) 

B) Combine the following sentences by using AFTER / BEFORE:

 

1.      My mother took her umbrella. She went out.

My mother had taken her umbrella before she went  out.

2.      Frank called me. I went to school.

Frank had called me before I went to school.

3.      I washed the dishes. I watched TV.

After I had watched TV, I washed the dishes.

4.      She washed her hands. She had lunch.

Before she had lunch, she had washed her hands.

5.      The boys bought a ball. They played football.

Before they played football,the boys had bought a ball.

6.      My mother made a cake. The guests came.

After my mother had made a cake,the guests came.

7.      He put sugar in his tea. He drank it.

After he had put sugar in his tea,he drank it.

8.      I got up. I had breakfast

       Before I had breakfast,I had got up.

9.      The children ran away. They broke the window.

The children ran away after they had broken the window.

10.  I fastened my seat belt. The plane took off.

The plane took off after I had fastened my seat belt.

 

Complete the following sentences:
