Session 33

Think what you would do if you were the school principal - cond 2

Ariana : If I were the school principal I wouldn't give ''cornul si laptele'' unless the children in my school were starving.

Alexia : I would give more sponges and markers If I were the school principal.

Cosmina : I would let the children in the patio to plant flowers if I were the school principal.

Regrets - cond 3

If your teacher had felt more confident she would have left Romania 35 years ago.

If I had watched the weather forecast I wouldn't have gone to Bulgarian beach.

If I had known that I shouldn't listen to everyone's opinion, I would have been a confident person.

If I hadn't got attached too much, I would have ended my toxic friendships 4 years ago.

Unless I had been late for the first class, I wouldn't have got an absence.

Unless I had known that it had to be yourself, I would have copied other people.

I wouldn't have ruined my friendship unless I had been to that sleepover.

Cond 1 - future ( till you graduate ) intentions/ plans/ objective

If I go to another competition, I will get blue belt certification.

If I don't buy a dog, I will not be happy.

I will miss my cousin theatre show if I don't wake up at time.

Unless we get warm clothes in the mountains we will get cold.

Unless my grandma comes from Italy, I will stay at home.

Unless I go to the doctor until Friday, I might be worse at the weekend.

Session 31

Why is the book disappointed ?

The book is disappointed because its reader forgot it at the cinema.
Another reason could be that it was used for other things  than reading; killing mosquitoes, placing it under the door or holding the coffee cup.

Note down what happened each month :

In November the book was wrapped as a gift and sent.
In December it arrived and it was unwrapped but it was left on the floor next to the couch.
In January the book was forgotten on the floor.
In February it was put on the bookshelf.
In March the book was left there.
In April it happened the same thing.
So did in May.
In June the book was moved to a row on the bookshelf.
In July the girl finally started to read and the book got used and dirty.
In August the book travelled with the woman and it was forgotten at the movie theatre.
In September the book survived in the ''Lost Property'' basket.
In October the book was thrown away.

row = rand
to move (ed) = a (se) misca
to get used = s-a uzat
to get dirty = a se murdari

 Conditional  O ( general truths)
If + present ; present

If it is day , it is light.

Conditional  1 (possible actions )
If + present ; future

If Alexia checks this tutorial notes , she will know what we have done.

Conditional 2 ( unreal expectations / dreams )
If + past ; would + V1
" to be " in conditional 2 has only one form :' were'
If I were a book , I would be a love story .
If Ariana were a book she would be a mystery book .
If Cosmina were a book , she wouldn't be a fairy tale book .

If I were a venomous snake, I would bite all the people I dislike.
If I were a fish, I would explore the entire ocean.
If I were a witch, I would make a spell to be the most powerful worldwide.
If I were a cave, I would scare all the tourists with my flying maleficent angels.
If I were Morana, I would travel the world instead of spending all my ghost life in Ariana's flat.
If I were a school, I would haunt all the children who hate me.

witch = vrajitoare
which = care
worldwide = in the entire world

If I had a lot of money, I would buy a robot which cooks because I don't like and I don't know how to cook.

If my dog had a lot of food, it would eat it immediately  because it is greedy.
If I had a twin sister , I would let her live my life and I will start a new one.
If I own a planet, I would create mutants because I want to win all the planets and I want to kill all the humans.

If Cosmina killed all the humans, we all would disappear.
If we all disappeared, the Planet would be cleaner.
If the Planet were cleaner, the animals would have a longer and better life.
If the animals lived longer, other species might appear.

DEBATE TOPIC

Teens having part-time jobs

I am in favour of this idea because they need to understand how to earn money.

I think it is a good idea because teens earn their own money and they become aware of the value of money.

I don't think it is a good idea because they need to focus on their school.

COVID vaccination

I approve of having the vaccine because you can travel safely.

I agree with Alexia because you can also go to concerts, plays, restaurants and most importantly we are not going to catch the virus anymore.
